“I didn’t grow up here, and I never really felt connected with the area until I started working here, so we want our staff and customers to feel the same, and always have a great experience, whether they’re in their 20s or their 90s.” The store doesn’t provide medical consultation but authorized Washington medical patients receive discounts. The CultureĬreating strong connections between the staff, customers and local growers is vital, and Nemechek likes to lead by example. Nemechek looks for people who are both super knowledgeable and super passionate and then provides even more training once they’re hired. It does mean slightly higher turnover than some shops when people graduate or relocate, but it also means that there’s always a great supply of enthusiastic employees. That diversity benefits customers since everyone brings different cannabis perspectives and personal experiences that they’re eager to share, and perhaps customers and budtenders from the same region can connect as well. The PeopleĪccording to Nemechek, the shop is as much of a melting pot as WSU – most of the budtenders are students hailing from around the country. The shop opened in 2016 and though it attracts plenty of students - and staff! - from Washington State University, it also welcomes the whole community. That location’s manager, Roneé Nemechek, tries to create a welcoming location wherein every customer can get questions answered, whether they’ve been smoking for years or just turned 21 and are ready to jump in with both feet. Shoppers at any of the five Satori shops throughout Washington know they’re always going to find a fine range of quality cannabis products, but each store has its own vibe, including the Pullman location. Address: 1330 SE Bishop Blvd., Pullman, WA 99163.Nemechek said she is proud of the passion her staff has shown toward taking care of the customers and knowing the products being sold. Perez said it is important for employees to find out what each customer’s needs are, especially because every person has their own preferences and tolerance to potency. “We try to make it a personal experience when you come in,” Nemechek said. He said his experience there has been positive, and everyone treats each other like family. Luis Perez has worked at Satori for eight months. Nemechek said customer service is an emphasis for her staff and herself, and it is part of why customers choose to come back to Satori over the other dispensaries in the area.

“During those times when people are on break, our community in Pullman really keeps us going,” Nemechek said. The shop sees a lot of business from students at WSU, Nemechek said, but even when students go home during breaks, it gets a lot of patronage from the more permanent residents around Pullman. “We want to have budget-conscious all the way up to the top-shelf things for connoisseurs,” she said. Satori employees often engage in educational training and meet with cannabis growers and producers to try new products and discuss the differences between them, Nemechek said. Satori offers cannabis products including, but not limited to, pre-rolled joints, concentrates, edible products and bud. “Business has been great,” Nemechek said. Ronee Nemechek has been a manager at Satori since late summer 2016. The people of Satori pride themselves on excellent customer service and providing a wide variety of cannabis products to both experienced cannabis-users and individuals who are new to the scene.
